Antique French solid bronze cryeiphantine statue on a marble base. Artist Demetre Haralamb Chiparus (1886 - 1947). This statue depicts Civa (Siva) the Hindu Creator God. Chipaeus found his source of inspiration for this Art Deco sculpture in American Jazz Dancer Gipsy Rhouma-je. She billed herself as Romanian while dancing at the L'Ermitage, Paris. Circa: 1920s. 17" high, 14" wide, 10" deep.
